Next Wednesday, April 20th, PCLP is proud to host Shon Hopwood, who will talk about his transformation from convicted bank robber, to appellate lawyer.
In 1998, Shon Hopwood pleaded guilty to five separate bank robberies and was sentenced to over 12 years in federal prison, and over $130,000 in restitution. While incarcerated, Mr. Hopwood became a jailhouse lawyer, writing petitions for certiorari on behalf of fellow prisoners. Upon his release from prison, he attended and graduated from University of Washington School of Law, passed the Washington State Bar, and now works in an appellate clinic at Georgetown Law School.
We hope to see you there, we will be meeting in Room 156 at noon. Pizza will be served.
