12:00-1:15pm
Professor Phil Torrey from Harvard Law School will discuss criminal bars to asylum. He will share his most recent experience where he litigated and won a nation-wide injunction in federal court enjoining the government from instituting new regulations which would have added seven new criminal bars to asylum. Professor Torrey directs Harvard Law School's Crimmigration Clinic which engages in litigation and policy advocacy concerning issues ranging from criminal bars to immigration relief to sanctuary city policies. His presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the audience.
